Call or text 988 for 24/7 free and confidential mental health support. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States.

    • The AAKOMA Project  "AKOMA believes that to meet the mental health needs of Youth of Color, we need to operate at three levels – raising consciousness among individuals, providing accessible tools for ongoing management, and changing systems to receive youth and provide better care."

    • The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation "Offering Black communities resources, connection and support needed to help break the silence and stigma around mental health. We help individuals find the pathway to their peace and wellbeing, to choose Joy over everything." 

    • BEAM: Black Emotional & Mental Health Collective "BEAM is a national training, movement building, and grant making institution that is dedicated to the healing, wellness, and liberation of Black and marginalized communities.

    • Black Mental Health Alliance Our mission is "to develop, promote and sponsor trusted culturally-relevant educational forums, trainings and referral services that support the health and well-being of Black people and their communities." 

    • Center for Healing Racial Trauma "The Center for Healing Racial Trauma is dedicated to using love, liberation, equity, and creativity informed therapeutic interventions to help racially/ethnically marginalized people heal from racism."

    • For the Gworls "We are a Black, trans-led collective that curates parties to fundraise money to help Black transgender people pay for their rent, gender-affirming surgeries, smaller co-pays for medicines/doctor’s visits, and travel assistance."

    • NAMI Sharing Hope: Mental Wellness in the Black Community "Lack of information surrounding mental health issues can prevent people in Black communities from getting the help and support they need. Sharing Hope is a three-part video series that explores the journey of mental wellness in Black communities through dialogue, storytelling and a guided discussion." 

    • The Confess Project of America: This is "the national organization supporting local chapters that train barbers and stylists to become mental health advocates, with the mission to build awareness and break stigmas around mental health within the Black community." 

    • The Loveland Foundation "Loveland Foundation is committed to showing up for communities of color in unique and powerful ways, with a particular focus on Black women and girls. Our resources and initiatives are collaborative and they prioritize opportunity, access, validation, and healing."

    • The Steve Fund We are "the nation’s leading organization focused on supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of young people of color. The Steve Fund works with colleges and universities, non-profits, researchers, mental health experts, families, and young people to promote programs and strategies that build understanding and assistance for the mental and emotional health of the nation’s young people of color."

    • Therapy for Black Girls "So often the stigma surrounding mental health issues and therapy prevents Black women from taking the step of seeing a therapist. This space was developed to present mental health topics in a way that feels more accessible and relevant."
    • Therapy for Black Men "We want to break the stigma that asking for help is a sign of weakness. With a rapidly growing directory of 591 therapists and 57 coaches throughout the fifty states thus far, we are here to provide judgment-free, multiculturally-competent care to Black men." 

Native Americans & Alaska Natives

    • Suicide Prevention Indian Health Service "The American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) National Suicide Prevention Strategic Plan is a national initiative addressing suicide prevention, based on fostering collaborations across Tribes, Tribal organizations, Urban Indian organizations, and the Indian Health Service (IHS)."

    • One Sky Center Our mission is "to improve prevention and treatment of mental health and substance abuse problems and services among Native people." 

    • Health Native Youth "HealthyNativeYouth.org contains health promotion curricula and resources for American Indian and Alaska Native youth."

    • We R Native "We are a comprehensive health resource for Native youth, by Native youth, providing content and stories about the topics that matter most to them. We strive to promote holistic health and positive growth in our local communities and nation at large."

    • Strong Hearts Native Helpline "StrongHearts Native Helpline 1-844-7NATIVE (762-8483) is a 24/7 safe, confidential and anonymous domestic and sexual violence helpline for Native Americans and Alaska Natives, offering culturally-appropriate support and advocacy."

    • Center For Native American Youth at the Aspen Institute "The goal of the Center is to bring greater national attention to the issues facing Native American youth, and to foster solutions, with special emphasis on youth suicide prevention."

Attempt Survivors 

    • Lifeline for Attempt Survivors "Whether you are thinking about suicide now or in the recent past, or you made a suicide attempt last night or several years ago, we understand that the pain you have felt is deep, your emotions may still feel raw, and that your feelings about wanting to end your life are (or were) complicated. We’re glad that you found the Lifeline and we want to help you remain safe and find hope, whether your difficult period is now or in the future." 

    • American Association of Suicidology "The membership of AAS includes mental health and public health professionals, researchers, suicide prevention and crisis intervention centers, school districts, crisis center volunteers, survivors of suicide loss, attempt survivors, and a variety of lay persons who have in interest in suicide prevention."

    • A Journey Toward Health & Hope | Your Handbook for Recovery After a Suicide Attempt "This resource guides people through the first steps toward recovery and a hopeful future after a suicide attempt. It includes personal stories from survivors, and strategies for recovery, such as re-establishing connections and finding a counselor."

Maternal Mental Health

      • Postpartum Support International  Call the PSI HelpLine:

Online Support Groups are available on their website. 

      • Action Plan for Depression & Anxiety During Pregnancy and After Birth "Use this action plan to see if what you are feeling is depression and anxiety during pregnancy or after birth, and if you should seek help."

      • National Maternal Mental Health Hotline "The National Maternal Mental Health Hotline provides 24/7, free, confidential support before, during, and after pregnancy." Call or text 1-833-943-5746 (1-833-9-HELP4MOMS). TTY users can use a preferred relay service or dial 711 and then 1-833-943-5746.

      • 20/20 Mom Here are a list of Screening Tools that are "research-validated and easily accessible by health care professionals." 

      • Baby Blues Connection is on a mission to "support parents and their families coping with pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders, with information, resources, and community." You can leave a message or send a text and a kind, caring ear will call back in the next 24 hours.

Veterans Resources 

    • Veterans Crisis Line Dial 988 then Press 1 or Text 838255 "The Veterans Crisis Line serves Veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and those who support them with free, 24/7 confidential support. You don't have to be enrolled in VA benefits or health care to connect." 

    • VA Caregiver Support Program "The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Caregiver Support Program (CSP) offers clinical services to caregivers of eligible and covered Veterans enrolled in the VA health care system. The program’s mission is to promote the health and well-being of family caregivers who care for our Nation’s Veterans, through education, resources, support, and services."

    • Veterans of Foreign Wars  "We have many programs and services that work to support veterans, service members and their families, as well as communities worldwide." 

    • Make the Connection  We are "an online resource designed to connect Veterans, their family members and friends, and other supporters with information, resources, and solutions to issues affecting their lives." 

    • American Legion Our mission is to "enhance the well-being of America's veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness."

Youth Resources 

    • You Matter "You Matter is a safe space for youth to discuss and share stories about mental health and wellness, created and administered by the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. You Matter blog posts are written by a rotating Blogger Council of individuals between the ages of 13-24 that are passionate about suicide prevention and mental health."

    • The Trevor Project "The Trevor Project’s mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ young people. Connect to a crisis counselor 24/7, 365 days a year, from anywhere in the U.S. It is 100% confidential, and 100% free right here."

    • Stop Bullying "Stop Bullying provides information from various government agencies on what bullying is, what cyberbullying is, who is at risk, and how you can prevent and respond to bullying."

    • Youth Suicide Warning Signs "If you are concerned about someone, you can ask yourself the following questions on this website & receive further support & resources.

    • The Jed Foundation "The Jed Foundation (JED) is a nonprofit that protects emotional health and prevents suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults, giving them the skills and support they need to thrive today…and tomorrow."

    • My Life is Worth Living This website features "five powerful stories told over 20 episodes. In each episode, relatable teen characters wrestle with challenges that are all too familiar for many viewers and discover strategies to cope when it feels like their own thoughts are against them. Over the course of each character’s journey, they realize that life is worth living."

    • Active Minds "is the nation’s premier nonprofit organization supporting mental health awareness and education for young adults. We are dedicated to saving lives and to building stronger families and communities." We do this "through education, research, advocacy, and a focus on young adults ages 14–25."

    • Love is Respect "is the national resource to disrupt and prevent unhealthy relationships and intimate partner violence by empowering young people through inclusive and equitable education, support, and resources."

    • Ditch the Label is "one of the largest youth charities in the world. If you’re aged 12-25, you can talk to us anything that is bothering you for free help and support. We’re mainly here to help with thinks such as bullying, mental health, cyberbullying, body-image, relationships, sex, identity and coming out."

    • The notOk App This app is "a free digital panic button to get you immediate support via text, phone call, or GPS location when you’re struggling to reach out. We'll notify your trusted contacts that they've been selected as your support group, so when the time comes and you need to reach out, you'll just have to open the app and press the large, red notOK® button."

Loss Survivors

    • After a Suicide Resource Directory is a "non-profit bereavement outreach organization available to those who are grieving a suicide death of family or friends. We also assist professionals who work with those who are grieving a suicide tragedy." 

    • American Foundation for Suicide Prevention "Our Resource and Healing Guide provides information about coping with loss, the survivor loss community, and resources to help with your journey."

    • A Voice at the Table A Voice at the Table is the national "home base" for the family and friends emotionally impacted & traumatized by the non-fatal suicidal crisis of a loved one."

    • Suicide Awareness Voices of Education "If you’ve lost a friend or family member to suicide, you’ve come to the right place. Find support groups, order a grief packet, or start a named memorial for your loved one. If you’d like to help others who are grieving, share your story of hope and how you were able to cope with a suicide loss."

    • Survivors of Suicide: Helping a Survivor Heal "The purpose of the Survivors Of Suicide web site is to help those who have lost a loved one to suicide resolve their grief and pain in their own personal way." 

Individuals with Neurodivergence 

    • Warning Signs of Suicide for Autistic People  "An autism-specific resource based on research findings and expert consensus"

    • Autism Resource for Warning Signs of Suicide " This toolkit examines the warning signs for the general public listed on the American Association of Suicidology (AAS)’s website and explains important considerations to be aware of while working with autistic people." 

    • Interdisciplinary Technical Assistance Center on Autism and Developmental Disabilities "The purpose of the Interdisciplinary Technical Assistance Center (ITAC) on Autism and Developmental Disabilities at AUCD is to improve the health of autistic people and people with developmental disabilities" 

    • Mom on the Spectrum Youtube Channel "I'm Tay, a mom of 2 who was diagnosed as autistic at 31. My diagnosis brought up questions, frustration, doubt, but most importantly, a new level of self compassion and understanding. I'm here to share knowledge, resources, and products that empower other neurodivergent people and their loved ones to live freely and creatively."

    • American Autism Association "We help bridge the gap to provide resources and educational opportunities to people with autism and their families—striving to ensure a brighter future." 

    • Crisis Supports for the Autism Community  "This resource was developed to aide crisis center workers in identifying and supporting autistic callers and texters who are in crisis." 

    • Autistic Self-Advocacy Network "The Autistic Self Advocacy Network seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movement with regard to autism. ASAN believes that the goal of autism advocacy should be a world in which autistic people enjoy equal access, rights, and opportunities." 

    • How to ADHD Youtube Channel  "This channel is my ADHD toolbox -- a place to keep all the strategies I've learned about having and living with ADHD. It's also grown into an amazing community of brains (and hearts!) who support and help each other. Anyone looking to learn more about ADHD is welcome here!" 

    • The Art of Autism "We are an international collaboration of talented individuals who have come together to display the creative abilities of people on the autism spectrum and others who are neurodivergent. The Art of Autism accepts many art forms, including blog posts, art, poetry, video submissions and requests for book and film reviews."

    • Building Equity and Supporting BIPOC Families of Individuals with Autism  "ECHO Autism is a virtual learning network of providers offering real-time access to autism and behavioral experts."

    • Disaster Distress Helpline "SAMHSA’s Disaster Distress Helpline, 1-800-985-5990, is a 24/7, 365-day-a-year, national hotline dedicated to providing immediate crisis counseling for people who are experiencing emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster."

    • DDH Online Peer Support Communities  "The purpose of DDH Online Peer Support Communities is to create enhanced opportunities for survivors and responders of disaster to come together for mutual aid and emotional support."

    • Ready.gov Coping with Disaster  "Ready is a National public service campaign designed to educate and empower the American people to prepare for, respond to and mitigate emergencies, including natural and man-made disasters. The goal of the campaign is to promote preparedness through public involvement." 

    • Strength After  "Strength After is the first storytelling site of its kind. Our mission is to provide a hub to share stories of hope and recovery encompassing all types of natural and human-caused disaster. We welcome stories from survivors, responders, loved ones, and caregivers, regardless of whether their experiences happened five decades ago or five days ago." 

    • American Red Cross Recovery Guides  Our emergency resources library includes "tips and strategies for preparing, responding and recovering from disasters and emergencies."

    • The National Child Traumatic Stress Network "The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) was created by Congress in 2000 as part of the Children’s Health Act to raise the standard of care and increase access to services for children and families who experience or witness traumatic events."
